Peter Gabriel

Peter is one of the artists most active in advancing the cause of human rights, going back to 1986, when he was a driving force behind Amnesty International’s Conspiracy Of Hope tour alongside Sting, Bono, Lou Reed, and Bryan Adams.

He founded Witness, a New York based non-profit Using video and online technologies to open the eyes of the world to human rights violations. Along with Richard Branson, he is a founding member of The Elders, a group of global leaders, brought together by Nelson Mandela, who use their collective experience and influence to promote peace, justice and human rights worldwide.

Peter has long been a supporter of The Community’s programs. He was the recipient of the 2006 Man of Peace award at the Annual Summit of Nobel Peace Laureates in Rome in 2006.
