George Clooney

When it comes to Sudan, George Clooney has been much more than a celebrity for a cause, traveling to the region with his journalist father and the Enough Project, getting down on the ground with victims of the government bombing and murder campaigns, and working tirelessly to stop the human rights atrocities in Darfur and other regions of the country.

Clooney founded Not On Our Watch with his Ocean’s 11 co-stars Don Cheadle, Matt Damon, and Brad Pitt, and producer Jerry Weintraub. The organization’s main goal is to stop the genocide occurring in Sudan. His charity has donated millions of dollars to help those suffering in the region, with much of the funding going through the United Nations World Food Programme.

His most recent project, co-founded with John Prendergast from the Enough Project, is the Satellite Sentinel project, using technology to track and document the atrocities in Sudan to force the peace process forward.
